Walk With Us Through Holy Week at First Christian Church of Broken Arrow

Holy Week is the most meaningful and sacred week in the Christian year. It is the story at the very center of our faith—the journey from celebration, to sacrifice, to resurrection. At First Christian Church of Broken Arrow, we invite you to walk that journey with us as we remember the final days of Jesus and celebrate the hope of Easter.

Whether you have observed Holy Week for many years or are experiencing it for the first time, these gatherings are designed to help us slow down, reflect, pray, and worship together.

Below are the opportunities to join us during this sacred week.

Palm Sunday

📅 March 29 | ⏰ 10:45 AM

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday as we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. During this special service, we will process with palms, reenacting and reliving the moment when crowds welcomed Jesus with shouts of praise.

It is a joyful beginning to the week that reminds us of the hope and expectation that surrounded Jesus as he entered the city—just days before the cross.

Maundy Thursday & Good Friday Observance

📅 April 2 | ⏰ 6:00 PM

On this meaningful evening, we will gather first in our fellowship hall for a simple meal together, remembering the night Jesus shared the Last Supper with his disciples.

During the meal we will share Communion, just as our Lord instituted on that Thursday evening long ago.

Following the meal, we will move into the Sanctuary for worship, where our service will gradually turn toward an early observance of Good Friday, commemorating the dark day when Christ gave his life for the world.

It is a powerful and reflective service that invites us to remember both the love and the sacrifice at the heart of the gospel.

Easter Vigil

📅 April 3 | ⏰ 12:00–6:00 PM

On the day between the cross and the resurrection, we will hold an Easter Vigil of prayer in our Sanctuary.

Church members and families are invited to sign up for 30-minute prayer intervals, creating a continuous rhythm of prayer throughout the afternoon.

As each prayer shift ends, the person completing the vigil will serve Communion to the person beginning the next time of prayer, creating a quiet chain of worship, reflection, and fellowship.

This is a beautiful opportunity to pause, pray, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter morning.

Easter Sunday

📅 April 5 | ⏰ 10:45 AM

Holy Week culminates in the celebration of Easter Sunday—the most important day in the history of the world.

Join us for a joyful worship service filled with special music, celebration, and the proclamation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Because the tomb is empty, hope is alive. And that is good news for all of us.

We would love for you, your family, and your friends to join us for any or all of these services as we walk together from palm branches, to the cross, to the empty tomb.
