Matthew Crowe
Matthew Crowe serves as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church in Broken Arrow with a deep love for the local church and a clear passion for helping people encounter the beauty of Jesus in everyday life. After more than 20 years in ministry—serving congregations in Alabama and Mississippi—Matthew was called to First Christian Church in Broken Arrow in January 2026. He believes the church is at its best when it is rooted in Scripture, shaped by grace, and fully engaged in the life of its community.
He is especially energized by seasons of renewal—helping churches rediscover their mission, strengthen their sense of belonging, and reimagine how they can serve their city. Matthew’s preaching blends thoughtful biblical teaching with warmth, clarity, and practical application. His heartbeat is simple: we don’t exist to build a big church; we exist to reflect the goodness of Christ in Broken Arrow. When people encounter FCC, he hopes they experience authenticity, hospitality, and a community that genuinely cares.
Matthew’s academic journey mirrors his spiritual journey—a steady commitment to going deeper. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Amridge University and a Master of Arts in New Testament from Faulkner University. He has pursued additional doctoral studies at Faulkner, along with training in Spiritual Direction and business administration. For Matthew, education has never been about collecting degrees; it has been about growing in wisdom, discernment, and faithfulness. He believes learning never ends and is continually seeking to better himself for the sake of Christ’s church and the work of God’s kingdom. He plans to apply to be received into Incare with the Commission on Clergy as he begins the journey toward ordination into Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ).
He and his wife, Jessica, are partners in life. Jessica has a heart for social justice, particularly advocating for women and those on the margins. Together they are raising their three children—Amos, Millie, and Campbell—who keep them grounded, laughing, and constantly learning.
When he’s not preaching or meeting with members, Matthew enjoys good coffee, thoughtful books, and meaningful conversations. Most of all, he loves walking alongside people—whether long-time believers, those returning to church, or anyone searching for hope.
